Unisex Water Buffalo Hippie Jesus Sandals
These buffalo sandals were popular in the 60′s and 70′s have made a big comeback in recent years and for a lot of good reasons, the main one being they’re not just for hippies any more! Each sandal is hand made of 100% authenti Buffalo Leather. These are the same style sandals that have been worn for millenia and the method of making these jesus sandals has not changes much in the past 2000 years. This style of “Jesus Sandal” was in the first place made and worn by Roman people over 2,000 years ago and the making of these sandals has been a lost art in a lot of constituents of the world since renaissances times. Each sandal features distinguishable and intricate designs that are all hand made in India including braided leather accents. These sandals ship in assorted natural leather tones, since these are made of 100% natural leather material color variations may appear from pair to pair, notwithstanding the colors on each pair will be a prefect match. Love them… But they didnt love me! By N. Mantrana I bought these shoes on a different website… (shouldve bought them here – much cheaper!) but i loved them!! I got so many compliments!!
but after a week my feet started swelling up really bad. Then a rash formed. And then the skin started peeling off!
I went to the doctor. The doctor gave me a shot (which soon cleared the rash) and told me that I was allergic to the shoe.
But anyway! They are so worth it if youre not allergic!
Actually i tried to kept wearing them after gluing felt to the parts of the shoe that touched my feet! But I was too afraid I would have the same problem and gave them away. The person i gave them to didnt have any reaction!
Hope this helped!

Blast from the past! By Russell S. Schantz I used to wear this kind of sandals back in the 70′s. Loved ‘em then, love ‘em now.
Here’s two lessons I’ve learned about wearing buffalo sandals – when you first get them, they can be stiff and somewhat uncomfortable. Wet them in a bucket of cold water (or walk through wet, dewy grass in the morning) and put the sandals on while they are still wet. They will mold to your feet as they dry, but, be aware that new sandals may temporarily dye your feet – and be careful of where you walk when your sandals are new and wet as some undesired dye transfer may happen.
Lesson two – we used to take thick, heavy (“carpet / button”?) thread and an upholstery needle and stitch up (reinforce) the stitching at the sides where the soles meet the top cross strap. This really seemed to help extend the useful life of these sandals.
Enjoy!
